On Sunday, July 17, at 10:00 a.m., it is foreseen that the II crossing will be made to swim Virgen del Carmen Coronado de Estepona at the Playa de la Rada.
After the success of the first edition, the Estepona Swimming Club, together with the town hall of the municipality and with the approval of the Brotherhood of the Virgen del Carmen Coronada of Estepona, decided to hold the second edition of this event. The goal is to become an annual activity to encourage swimming in the open sea in the municipality.
In principle we will have the participation of well-known swimmer and blogger, Rubén Gutierrez, who stands out for having crossed the Swim of the Strait of Gibraltar, 22Km in 4h29min, the Crossing to Swim between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands. Among many other achievements.
The crossing has two tests for children of 300 and 600 meters as well as short test of adults of 1250m and long test of 2500m. Registration can be done online at the website www.dorsalchip.es. It will count on the delivery of Trophies for the 3 first classified of each absolute category and medal for the 3 first classified of the infantile categories.
The swim crossing of Estepona is considered of local tourist interest. Among its sponsors is the same Hdad de la Virgen del Carmen Coronada of Estepona, the Fishermen’s Association, Frozen El Copo, Frutas Horto Prieto, the Frigo brand, Laguna Village Shopping Center and the Marinas del Mediterráneo port group.
Its solidarity character urges all those who wish to donate 1 kg. of non-perishable food that will be delivered to Cáritas parish on the same day of the crossing.
