IMPORTANCE OF CARBONER MARINE FAMILIES
The City Council of Estepona, through the municipal delegation of Culture, informs that next Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 20:30 hours, a conference on the role of Estepona as important will take place at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center place of reference in the migratory movements of fishermen of the 20th century.

This conference, with free admission until full capacity, will revolve around the book by Antonio Carrillo Alonso “Fishing in Almería (1900-1976). Importance of the marine families of Carboneras. Estepona and Isla Cristina as migration points “, which will be presented in the same act.
The author will be accompanied by three living testimonies of old fishing families from Estepona: Pedro Benzal Soto, Senior Patron of the Fishermen’s Association of Estepona, integrated into the Andalusian Federation of Fishing Guilds, FACOPE, Cati Carrillo Sáez and Pedro Hernández Benzal.
Published by Arráez Editores, this book is a study on fishing in Almería, from the beginning of the 20th century up to the fishermen’s strike of 1976, through the analysis of the most important aspects of the world of the sea and of ancient fishermen . The common thread is the long historical process followed by the fishing families originally from Carboneras who moved to the capital and other places on the coast during the first half of the century, playing a fundamental role in shaping the fishing sector of several Andalusian ports . The study covers the entire province of Almeria and is especially centered on the Carboneras of the first decades of the twentieth century and the Almeria after the Civil War.
The author analyzes the process of transformation of boats and fishing systems, from the first seine boats to modern trains and cows, delving into such important aspects as the permanent conflicts with Morocco, the arrival of technical and technological innovations or the factors that lead to the fishermen’s strike of 1976. The theme is also covered from the sociological and anthropological housing, customs, salaries, etc.) and this along with the gallery of characters that appears throughout the work (shipowners, mechanics, fishermen , caulkers, sailors, canners …), gives a greater historical and social dimension to this book, which, within the fisheries studies carried out in Spain, is an important contribution to the knowledge of the human and labor framework in which they developed their daily life the old fishermen.
At the end of the act the author will sign copies of the book.
Antonio Carrillo Alonso was born in a family of fishermen originally from Carboneras. Doctorate in Romance Studies from the universities of Granada and Seville, he carries in his life experience the imprint of four corners of Andalusia: Malaga (born in Estepona at the end of 1944); Almeria, the city where he grows up, does his first studies and with which he continues to feel deeply identified; Granada, where he does his university studies; and Seville, in two of whose institutes he has been a professor of literature. Carboneras, as a mythical place in the history of fishing in the Andalusian Levante and as the cradle of old sailors, occupies an important place in its sentimental geography.
Dedicated for years to investigate the world of traditional lyric and the literary and anthropological aspects of flamenco singing, as well as the relationships of popular poetry with the work of our cultured poets, has published among others the following books: Flamenco singing as an expression and liberation, The traditional poetry in the Andalusian cante. Of the jarchas when singing, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer and the cantares of Andalucía and Fernando de Herrera, Góngora and Soto de Rojas: their relationship with the lyric arabigoandaluza. Price: On request

The City Council of Estepona, through the Sociocultural Area and Services, informs that the Teatro Lírico Andaluz, directed by Pablo Prados, will offer the second title of the I Season of Zarzuela that takes place in the Felipe VI Auditorium, with the representation of the work “El Barbero de Sevilla” by Perrín y Palacios, and music by Giménez and Nieto, next Friday, October 27, 2017, at 8:00 p.m.
From the point of view of the genre boy or theater for hours, it was common to parody the great titles of the operatic repertoire, thus jewels of the lyrical repertoire are born, such as “The court of Pharaoh”, parody of “Aida” by Verdi or The golfemia on “The Boheme “by Puccini, among these works quickly became popular” The Barber of Seville “, which uses the opera of the same title composed by Rossini as justification to parody the world of the opera companies and the artists that integrated them.
In those “trips to nowhere”, which were a getaway from the oppressive everyday world, the zarzuela in an act by Perrín y Palacios with music by Giménez and Nieto, has provoked one of the most emblematic pieces of the repertoire, “La polonaise”, “They call me the beautiful one”, flower of recitals and vehicle for commercial announcements still in the actuality. A delicious score and good humor are served on Friday, October 27 at 8:00 p.m. One of the best opportunities to enjoy the Spanish Lyric Theater in Estepona.

A mixture of improvisation, absurd humor, social criticism and total interaction with the public, through good music. A concert in acoustic that will not leave any spectator indifferent.
After the successful tour “Detachment of the routine” and the numerous summer festivals, the Antílopez band returns to tour theaters. In addition, it seems that his new album is currently on the way, with advances such as “Measuring Measurement and Travel” or “Like fruit flies”.
Félix López and Miguel Ángel Márquez are two Andalusian artists from Huelva, adventurous, enterprising and brave, who dazzle for their impudence when writing the lyrics of their songs, how to interpret them and a daring and cheeky mise-en-scène. Watching one of Antílopez’s performances is like jumping without a parachute in free fall. A few monsters of the scene, versatile artists who dare with what is put in front of them, be it a tango or a rap, with the humble aspiration of playing all the clubs without any shame, without complexes and without turning back. Actors of medium hair, not of hair on chest and most importantly, without hairs on the tongue.
