THEATER “LA ÚLTIMA SALIDA DE SANCHO PANZA”
Place: Teatro Felipe VI
Time: 20:00 hours
Price: € 10

The City Council of Estepona, through the Sociocultural Area and Services, informs that the Escudero Andante Teatro Company will present on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 8:00 p.m., in the Felipe VI Auditorium, the work “The last exit of Sancho Panza “, for the benefit of Cáritas Española.

With this work by Ignasi García and directed by Andreu, and starring Jesús Luque in the role of Sancho, this company was presented, born from the hand of J. Luque and Chus Bernal. Since its successful premiere last February, at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, it has been gaining ground in the national scenic landscape.

Luque: “the collaboration of” Andreu “in the stage direction, with more than 30 shows behind him, and one of the founders of the Malaguan company InduoTeatro, which has been almost 10 years old, and the generosity of Ignasi García writing the text for the company, provide a plus of quality to the project “which, in the words of its author, we could summarize as follows:

Synopsis: After the death of Don Quixote, Sancho Panza has tried to return to his old life as a laborer, but he has not been able to. It weighs too much in his mind the memory of the adventures he lived with his lord, and feels that, somehow, he is failing for not continuing with the task of satisfying grievances, straighten wrongs, punish insolence and defeat giants. And more in the present times, in which there are still as many or even more injustices than before. Sancho, in addition, is able to try to be governor of an island again because, in view of how politicians currently govern, he thinks that he did not do so badly.

So, alternating fragments adapted from the novel with a more contemporary language, in a rural world where technology begins to invade everything, Sancho rehearses before a chair how to say for the umpteenth time to Teresa Panza, his wife, who this time he will go and will not be able to keep him.

And is that … if we were in the place of Sancho Panza, could we return to our old life, after the experiences and adventures shared with Don Quixote? How would we cope with the emptiness left by the friend’s absence? Could we remain indifferent to those injustices and grievances that we try to repair in their company? Would those injustices of the s. XVI very different from those that exist in our XXI Century? This is the journey that the author proposes to the viewer in the work, to accompany a Sancho Panza who tries to continue with his life after the death of Don Quixote, in his doubts, his dreams, his hopes and his frustrations.

For their part, the poems are presented as true works of art within popular poetry.

Peter Pan The Musical
Place: Teatro Felipe VI
Time: 12:00 hours

“Second star on the right and followed until dawn … Based on the work of J.M. Barrie, tells the adventures of a child who does not want to grow and who believes deeply in the fairies. Who would not like at some point in his life to be a child again? Peter Pan immerses us in a world where fantasy and reality transport us to the land of dreams. Dreams that stop being when the light of the fairy Tinker directs the first notes of a symphony of light and color. Some beautiful chords, anticipate the wonderful story of the child who never wanted to grow, told by the incomparable sensitivity of a mother, played by the character of the narrator. This is how this story begins, where reality and fantasy blend until it can not be distinguished, creating a magical atmosphere, not only on stage, where large mobile sets with fascinating lighting join spectacular choreography, acrobatics, wonderful songs and a striking sound, but also in the own stalls where Indians, pirates, lost children and other characters of Neverland, transport us to that country through, of course, the incredible flight of Peter, Wendy, John and Michael, where in addition to see the mythical Sirens, they will face Captain Hook and his pirates, to which they will conquer with the help of the Indian tribe, their great boss and their daughter Tigrilla. After defeating Garfio, they will return to London together with their new friends to make us participate forever in this unique adventure, except for the child who never wanted to grow and who never grew up. The child in the sheet suit left us a message that would last forever in our hearts:
“… do not become completely old … never stop believing in me”

Art exhibition: “Itinerantes”

Date: 01/12/2017 to 01/31/2018

Place: Teatro Felipe VI

Price: Free

The City Council of Estepona, through the Sociocultural Area and Services, informs that the “Poseidón” exhibition hall of the Felipe VI Auditorium will host, during the months of December and January, the art exhibition “Itinerantes”, by the artist Rodolfo Gil Romero.

Like the previous ones, this show is possible thanks to the collaboration agreement of the company Malvavisco Digital, current manager of the Auditorium, and the Cultural and Cinematographic Association of the Costa del Sol “Unicornio”, and can be visited for free, in the days of celebration of events in the Felipe VI Auditorium.

The sample is composed of more than twenty figurative works of small format, using mixed media, collages, ink and watercolors, and for the author an ironic gesture, a quiet cry motivated by stupor and impotence in the face of the suffering of so many people that they have to leave their countries, their families and their houses to look for more worthy horizons, and they undertake a long journey risking their lives and losing them in many cases, in these nearby waters in which others enjoy and take vacations.

The exhibition begins to take shape with the wrecks in Lampedusa, in October 2013, and in the following events on Spanish coasts and borders, and proposes a reflection on the unjust relationship between countries, between abundance, exploitation and the consequences of war.

The narration is carried out through characters that represent on the one hand the life, the memory, the wisdom, and the empathy of doctors and cooperators towards these suffering people, and others that symbolize the indifference and contempt towards these displaced and dispossessed.

Rodolfo Gil Romero is an architect born in Tucumán, Argentina, and has lived in Spain since 1986 in Madrid and Seville, and since 1990 in Marbella. In addition to performing various courses in Contemporary Art and Graphic Design, Photography, and Drawing and Painting, among others, he also dedicates himself to writing. Among other awards, he has won the first in the “Illustrated Poetry” Contest in Tucumán and the “Rafael Leoz Foundation” Award in Madrid, and has been the winner of the third edition of the Micro-book Fair Contest of the Book Fair of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara.
